Purpose
Central Lutheran School has an Endowment Fund. The purpose is to receive gifts and bequests, and to use them for the mission and ministry of Central Lutheran School.

The Endowment fund has two separate divisions:

  1. Continuing: The income from the Continuing portion of the Fund will be used to supplement the operating budget of Central Lutheran School unless otherwise approved by the Board. The principle of this portion of the Fund will be maintained in perpetuity to assist and insure the continued ministry of Central Lutheran School.
  2. Improvement: The Improvement portion of the Fund will be used for the improvement and expansion of the facilities and equipment of Central Lutheran School unless otherwise approved by the Board. Both the income and the principle of the this portion of the Fund will be available for use subject to approval of the Board.

Undesignated monies will be dispersed to the Continuing and Improvement with division on an equal basis unless otherwise approved by the Board.

Gifts and Bequests
The Fund will receive gifts and bequests made on both a designated and undesignated basis. Gifts and bequests may be restricted by special terms or conditions or may contain limitations or directions as to the investment, accumulation or use of the substance of the gift. The Endowment Committee will submit to the Board its recommendations on the acceptability of gifts or bequests as the committee deems appropriate. The acceptance of such a gift will be by a simple majority of the Board. After approval, additional gifts and bequests with the same designation do not need to be approved by the Board.
