"Building In Faith"

We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith,

your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

How We Got Here . . .

Over the last 10 years, several surveys of the families and congregational supporters of Central have been conducted to assess the needs of these constituents.  Consistently, three focus areas were identified:  gymnasium facilities, classroom space and kitchen space/facilities.  In late 2004, the Board of Directors decided to create a Ministry and Facility Committee charged with the responsibility to dig deeper into these needs and begin to develop a plan by which these needs could be met.  That led to the creation of three sub-committees:  Building, Endowment and Alumni.  The Building Committee focused on how to expand the present building to meet current and future needs, the Endowment Committee focused on investigating how to meet Central’s future financial needs and the Alumni Committee focused on building a list of prior Central students and families.

These three Committees and their extended team members, comprised of other interested parents and congregational members, have met many times since that time.  Earlier this year, the Building Committee made a recommendation to the Board of Directors, after interviewing many architects, to contract Brost Architects to begin drawing up potential plans for expansion to address all three survey areas.  That was approved by the Board and subsequently, by the voters of St. Stephen’s, Atkins and St. John, Newhall.  Then, roughly two months ago, the Endowment Committee made a recommendation, after discussion with many fundraising individuals and companies, to hire LCEF Capital Funding Services (CFS).  CFS would assist in getting the message out about this project, conduct interviews with potential contributors, and report back on the overall feasibility of this project.  This recommendation was also approved by both the Board and the voters.

So as we move forward, please . . .

  1. Get involved, at any level.  We will be seeking many volunteers to assist throughout many aspects of this study.

  2. Keep this project and all of those involved in your prayers.  Please pray that we continue to look for the Lord's direction in this project and that our primary goal in this project continues to be to expand the sharing of Christ's love through Christian Education.

Over the coming months, you will hear much more about this project, so please keep your eyes, ears and hearts open.  In the interim, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact any Board Member.
